SAMPLE KNITTING
I’m so excited!!! I am going to be knitting a sample for A Girl And Her Wool. So this will be new for me. I only have to knit one sock since it’s to be a sample to show off her yarn. This works for me. I think I might not like knitting a bigger project and then having to give it back to her. At least this is a good place to start. I will be “paid” with a gift card to use to buy her yarns. I’m fine with that. So this wasn’t on my 2021 knitting plan but I’m happy to add it!
PROJECT UPDATES
My nonshellseeker sweater is coming along. I’ve split the front and back like I wanted. I’m happy with the length so I’ll go back and knit the hem on the front side in white. I need to finish the dark grey stripe on the back side and I plan to make the back a little longer so I’ll knit some of the white stripe before knitting the white hem. Then it’s the sleeves and it will be finished!! Much happier with narrower stripes.

My daughter’s top Bisquit (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bisquit-2) is coming along. Oops – I knit the front lace a little longer than the back but I’m thinking I can just reduce the number of stockinette rows on the front side. With the Super Bowl today, that will be tomorrow’s project to figure out how to reconcile the front and back. 🙂

No new knitting purchases this week although I did have to buy some glass plates. There was a big wind storm a few days ago that blew over my plant stand on the patio. Unfortunately I had used glass plates to catch any draining water from the pots. What a mess!! So I had to buy some replacement plates. They aren’t an exact match but hopefully the condo owner won’t mind. And yes, I also bought plastic catch trays for under the plants.
This is a year of projects (YOP) update. YOP is a Ravelry Group – make a plan for the year ahead for all your fiber activities, then update your blog every week. The objective is to keep track of progress on any fiber crafts with maximum flexibility: post, don’t post, follow your list, change it – so really it is just an opportunity to get to know of more blogs and activities of those who share a passion for anything fiber crafts.
The jumper is looking great and seems like you are pretty close to finishing it. Perhaps you’ll actually get to seek shells whilst wearing it 😁

Very fun about the test knit and the stripes look fantastic on you. The biscuit is an adorable pattern — I love the neckline. I bet you mods for the extra lace rows could become a design element!

Thanks. I think extra lace on the front will be okay. It’s only an inch longer on the front vs back.

How cool! Being paid in yarn is awesome!!
The sweaters look great, I liked the original not-shell-seeker; I agree these stripes look better.

Test knitting is so much fun. I loved test knitting socks. How nice that you will be paid in yarn too. Your non shell seeker sweater is looking so nice. I like the smaller stripes too. I also like the fact you split the front and back on the bottom. Your daughters sweater is such a pretty color. I like the texture on it too. Have a great week.

Now I’m planning a sweater for my husband with the same colors and yarn but his will all be the same size stripe (the ones at the chest). I’m so lucky my LYS has the discontinued light grey still in stock!!
