2021: Wk of 12/12-18; WIPs Update

Not a lot of knitting this week. I’m happy to report that I’m getting a lot of exercise and socialization here in Florida. Hence, less time knitting. On the other hand, I’m killing my steps goal. And I won a gift card at the cookie exchange! I baked the chocolate biscotti in the center.

HELDIG TANK

The tank top is coming along. An easy knit that lets me work on my Continental knitting making it a comfortable knit as well. Sadly it will be left behind as we fly back to Cincinnati for Christmas. I want to take a small sock project for the plane.

“WALKING” SOCKS

I’ve only taken my socks “walking” once. I still have to look at the stitches while I walk. I think once I get further up the foot, I’m barely past the toe increases, it will get easier to knit and then easier to knit without looking.

“TRAVEL” SOCKS

I need a small project to take to Cincinnati for airport/plane knitting and knitting while home. So I cast-on my Christmas lights yarn by AlwaysbeKind for the Tennarisukka sock. I’m looking forward to meeting my Cincinnati knitting friends while I’m in town for a knitting session so the socks will get worked on some over the 5 days I’m in town.

“TRAVEL” SOCKS

Wishing everyone a wonderful last week of Advent.

This is a year of projects (YOP) update. YOP is a Ravelry Group – make a plan for the year ahead for all your fiber activities, then update your blog each week. Plans can be calendar year (like mine) or mid-year start (like many). Following the plan is optional and creates some of the fun of posts. YOP is in it’s 11th year. It’s my second in the group.

  1. Those cookies look very yummy. Congratulations on the win for the biscotti. The tank keeps growing each week. I like the color of your ‘walking’ socks. I have tried it but was not very successful with it. The pattern you have chosen for your travel socks is really pretty. I think that yarn will really help it pop too. Enjoy your time back home for Christmas.

    1. Thank you. All the news about the packed airports is stressing me. But we fly out of small airport and they just assured me long term parking isn’t an issue like at the larger international airport. Whew!

  2. Have a wonderful Christmas trip. I am too accident prone to walk and knit at the same time. I suppose if you are doing the same familiar circuit it would become easier to know, but our regular circuit is on a farm track and through woods so definitely lots of obstacles that would trip me. Those cookies look delicious.

  3. Your biscotti look DELISH! Reading about how you’ve been spending your time and seeing your projects is just so delightful. I really missed seeing your sockie and jumper projects! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
